1. DO I NEED A DRIVER'S LICENSE TO OPERATE A UNIT?  No, currently there is no state in the USA that requires a state issued driver's license to drive our unit.

2. ARE THERE ANY WEIGHT OR HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS? The weight limit for a unit is 305 lbs. If the rider is over 305 lbs. it will damage the frame of the unit. The steering column adjusts well to any height, and we enclose a small tool kit for you to do so when it is assembled or transported for your convenience.

3. HOW LONG WILL MY RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES LAST AND HOW DO I DISPOSE OF THEM WHEN I DO REPLACE THEM? Our batteries are 95% recyclable! The lead acid batteries that come with your unit already charged can be recharged up to 300-325 times before you need to replace them with a new set. When you are ready to replace them we can service you. To recycle the old ones, we encourage you to call: The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation at 800 822 8837 or visit their website at:  www.rbrc.org/consumer to locate the nearest recycling center near you.

4. WILL MY UNIT FIT IN MY CAR'S TRUNK? It depends, but most likely it will fit into most standard trunks. All the dimensions are listed on The TREADer® page so you might want to check first before purchasing it if you depend on transporting it this way. The steering column frame attaches to the powerbase so it is a lot more flexible to transport when it is folded down. We included that handy tool kit to make it easy for you to do so.

5. CAN I INSURE A UNIT? We recommend that you contact your local insurance company to find out the type of coverage that would work out for you. There are many options available today.

6. IS A UNIT LEGAL IN MY STATE? Currently there are no states in the USA that prohibits use of our units in general , but we highly recommend before you invest in a unit for yourself that you give your local police department a call to confirm your local regulations for use in public areas.

7. HOW DO I REGISTER MY UNIT FOR MY WARRANTY? When you purchase a unit it comes with an owner's manual with all the information you will need in regards to your unit. The last page of the manual will have all the information one needs to register your unit after your purchase.

8. IS IT REALLY SAFE TO RIDE? Using safety in mind we recommend that one wears a helmet at all times, pads, athletic shoes, and use common sense while riding on streets and sidewalks. Our units are three to four times faster than walking so one has to use care where foot traffic is and respect pedestrians.

9. WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY? If you order The TREADer® and change your mind, you do have some options. You may return the unit at the cost of reshipping the unit to us and if the guidelines of our policy are followed, you will receive a full refund minus a 20% restocking fee within 30 days of the day you requested a refund.
As a small company we respect your decision but have to follow our strict guidelines.

10. WHAT ABOUT THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT? Our New England Service Center is prepared to meet all your needs for servicing your TREADer® as needed. Your one year limited warranty is our guarantee that we will work hard and do our best to have your unit to you in a timely manner, and returned to you at our cost so you may continue to enjoy it!
